Is Decidual Bleeding a symptom of pregnancy?

DECIDUAL BLEEDING

QUESTION

I had very unusual period and my doctor said it is just the "decidual bleeding". Does it mean I am 100% pregnant? Is Decidual Bleeding a symptom of pregnancy? Should I make the pregnancy test or check other pregnancy symptoms?

Answer from experts

If you had decidual bleeding (“period-like” bleeding), it means you are pregnant. But in reality evalution of the bleeding ONLY could create mistakes. It is always better to have second confirmation of the pregnancy - it could be basal temperature, it could be home pregnancy test or pregnancy test in laboratory.

If it is your first pregnancy, better have second confirmation of the pregnancy.

If it is not your first pregnancy, you could easily recognize several pregnancy symptoms like food craving, unusual smelling, morning nausea and sickness, tender and swollen breasts, fatigue, frequent urination, etc.

Women Health and women hormonal status is pretty complicated even without pregnancy. But during pregnancy women hormones can get out of whack, causing you to lose parts of the lining from the uterus. It could be decidual bleeding which generally not thought to be a health threat for woman and baby development BUT any bleeding during pregnancy could be a signal of miscarriage. So, be very careful and take care of your health.
