Women sexual health was always interesting subject and many people invented stories which were disseminated by several generations. Even in XXI century many girls and women were led to believe in things about reproductive health that is simply a myth and untrue.

Some religions distributed myths about contraception just to forbid people to control their fertility plans. Many untrue stories were invented about condoms, pills and fertile days.

TRUE or MYTH

1. You easily can get pregnant if you already started having periods;
2. You can get pregnant on all fertile days of your menstrual cycle – you just need to know your fertile and secure days;
3. Younger girls are more fertile than older women and can get pregnant very easily;
4. Any unprotected sex can end up with pregnancy.

1. Everything depend on which day of cycle you had unprotected sex and how long is your menstrual cycle;
2. You can get pregnant on any fertile day of your cycle;
3. Sperm can live up to 5 days in a woman's body and it should be calculated while selecting secure days

1. In some cases breastfeeding can be considered as a contraception method – cases with 100% permanent breastfeeding;
2. During partially breastfeeding your body can produce follicles and mature eggs even without menstruation/periods;
3. Mini pills are recommended for breastfeeding women.

1. Spermatozoids can enter vagina easily if ejaculation happened close to external sex organs;
2. History knows many cases of pregnancy with intact hymen;
3. Any vaginal contact with fresh sperm (with hands, sex toys, etc.) can end up with pregnancy.

1. Vaginal douche immediately after sex can remove some ejaculation portions from vagina BUT
2. There are millions of spermatozoids in the ejaculate and spermatozoids move/travel very fast and can reach your cervix even before you stand up for douche.

1. Modern contraceptive pills are pretty effective up to 97-98% but about 2-3% pills’ users can still get pregnant;
2. Birth control pills cannot protect you from STDs;
3. Only Dual Contraception can protect you both from pregnancy and from STDs.

1. Even if you had one sex during last 6-12 months and if your only sex was on your fertile day, you can get pregnant;
2. For rare unprotected sex Emergency Contraception is recommended;
3. Any unprotected sex can transmit STDs.

1. If you are allergic to hormonal contraception and/or barrier methods, you always can use Natural Methods of Contraception

1. It is true that the older you get the less fertile you are;
2. As long as you are having periods, you can have ovulation and you can become pregnant;
3. Only after one year without periods - you can have unprotected sex.
4. In menopause you are still able to get STDs.

1. It is true that ovulation is rare during irregular periods;
2. If ovulation happened during irregular periods, it always happen 14 days before period;
3. Some women get pregnant even during irregular periods;
4. Only your doctor can tell you if you are fully infertile.

1. Sexual feelings and reproductive functions are different;
2. There could be many women with orgasm, who cannot get pregnant and there are many mothers, who never had orgasm.
